About Lajares

The Protest Surfhouse, Surfvilla and Surfstudio are all in Lajares, a small village counting 65 nationalities between it’s 1600 inhabitants. At 5 km from the North Shore, 7 km from Cotillo and 12 km from Corralejo, this lively little surftown is the perfect base for your surfing holiday!

Lajares is home to the island’s best shapers and surf shops, and offers a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Just opposite Protest Surfhouse there’s Wenzel Surfboards, 7thwave windsurfboards and our surfrental center. About 5 good surfbars, 6 restaurants, 2 pizzerias, 2 bakeries, a crêperie, 4 surfshops and a big supermarket will provide everything you need to fulfill your daily needs!

Protest Surfhouse

The Protest Surfhouse is the perfect place to meet friends and have a wonderful time! We can sleep up to 12 people in comfortable 2, 3 or 4 person bedrooms. There’s a large common area with relax room, modern kitchen and big terrace with BBQ.

There’s also WIFI, satellite television, playstation, tablefootball, tabletennis, gym and free bikes to make your stay with us as playful and comfortable as possible! A bit more into town we made an indoor mini skateramp free to use for Protest Surfschool customers. Because we like them ourselves we are constantly looking for more toys!

In the guesthouse you can book lots of different excursions like downhill mountainbiking, snorkeling, diving, guided tours and many more…

Surf-villa ‘Finca Bart’

This surf-villa is a typical ‘Fuerte-house’. Named after the owner, father of Belgian’s best surfers Lars and Niels Musschoot, it’s been recently reformed and supplied with all modern comforts. The perfect combination of modern living with the charms and warm feeling of an old canarian villa!

The villa has two double bedrooms and a comfortable double sofa-bed in the living room sleeping up to 6 people in total. There’s also WIFI, satellite television, BBQ, a very nice private swimming pool and off-street parking. You can only rent the whole villa.

Protest Surfschool customers renting the surf-villa can also use the toys of the Protest Surfhouse, which is at only 100 meters distance!

Surf-studio ‘Tropical Garden’

At about a hundred metres from our Protest Surfhouse, gardener Michael offers a nice one-bedroom studio with a fantastic tropical garden. It is part of a newly build house in volcano stone on a plot of 3000 m2. The sunny terrace with two sun beds and dining table is perfect for outdoor relaxing whilst enjoying the surrounding landscape.

The cosy living room includes a comfortable double sofa-bed and relaxing armchair. There’s also a modern fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. A baby bed, bath and high chair are available. The studio has off-street parking but no swimming pool.

Protest Surfschool customers renting the surf-studio can also use the toys of the Protest Surfhouse, which is at only 200 meters distance!
